On Friday May 21st, 2021, Dr. Richard Konteh in honor of an invite from the Makeni Business Community, observed the second Juma prayer in the Arabic month of Shawal in Makeni.
Welcoming Dr. Konteh in the mosque built by the Muslim Traders at Campbell Street in Makeni town, the Public Relations Officer of the Traders Union, Mr. Babah Kamara, recounted the good things Dr. Konteh did for all traders across the country while he was serving as Minister of Trade and Industry in 2010/2012. He described Dr. Konteh as having a similar character to that of his former boss, President Ernest Bai Koroma. "He meets with you today, he calls you by your name in the next meet. That's the quality of Dr. Konteh" Kamara said.
Mr. Kamara urged his colleague traders to firmly stand with Dr. Konteh (D-Unifier) and always remember him in their prayers to achieve his desired goal. "Dr. Konteh would serve this nation even more than former President Koroma if provided with the opportunity," Kamara assured the congregation. "I have no doubt in his ability to change this country for the better", he said, adding that, "Dr. Konteh could have changed the narrative of traders in Sierra Leone had he served long in the Trade Ministry."
Just after the Juma prayer, Dr. Konteh visited some business centers in Makeni and was later escorted home by a host of bike riders.
