My fellow Sierra Leoneans,
As we celebrate our nation's Independence Day, let us take a moment to reflect on the values that have made us strong and resilient people - unity, freedom, and justice for all.
We are a diverse nation with many ethnicities, languages, and traditions. Still, we are bound by a common love for our country and a shared desire for a better future for ourselves and our children. This unity has allowed us to overcome the challenges of the past and build a brighter future for ourselves and our nation.
But unity alone is not enough. We must also strive for freedom and justice for all. Our country has suffered greatly from conflicts and division. We must work together to build a society where every Sierra Leonean can live in freedom, peace and prosperity, regardless of their background.
We must also ensure that justice is served for all and that every citizen is treated fairly and with dignity. This means rooting out corruption, promoting accountability, and upholding the rule of law.
As we celebrate Independence Day, let us renew our commitment to unity, freedom, and justice. Let us unite as a nation in our shared vision for a brighter future. And let us always remember that it is only through our collective efforts that we can build a Sierra Leone that we can all be proud of.
Thank you, and may God bless Sierra Leone.
Glory to God and peace to Mama Salone. God bless you Dr. Konteh for your brilliant message to the nation needed for the hour. Happy Independence Day. Rev Alie Sehdu Conteh
